Seeker – What does it mean to ‘lose control?’ If one has lost control, what is it that has gained control?
The Most Benevolent Big Bobby Bisto – Whenever one loses control the Moogli takes over.
Seeker – What is the Moogli?
Bisto – The Moogli is the self which lives in dream and phantasy. It is a phantom of unfulfilled desires. The Moogli lives in the unreal world but is always waiting for its opportunity to cross the threshold into reality. Whenever the conscious mind becomes incapacitated, whether it be through violent emotion, inebriation, exhaustion or something else, the Moogli fills the vacuum. The Moogli is the creation of the man but its actions may well appall him, may terrify or humiliate him. This is why the wise do not dream idly. Their dreams are directed. Their wishes are conscious and controlled. In this way they create a Moogli which will help them. With training a Moogli which is higher than oneself may be formed. It can then be looked to for guidance. A man who is superficially good may create much destruction and suffering if his Moogli is untamed.
